South African fast food chain Nando’s has paid tribute to Australian cricket great Shane Warne who tragically died on Friday.

Warne, who was 52, was found unresponsive in his villa in Thailand were he was reportedly on holiday with friends.

Shane Warne took 708 wickets in 145-Test career

The Australian leg-spinner was the first Test bowler to take 700 wickets and finished his 145-Test career with 708 victims, the second-most of all time behind Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan with 800.

Nando’s were quick off the mark – as always – with their latest advertisement, drawing a comparison between Warne’s bowling and their famous chicken.

The advertisement read: ‘Okay, we’ll admit … your leggies were better than ours. But our chicken’s still better than a duck.’

Nando’s ended off by saying what many believe to be true: ‘Greatest spinner of ALL time, mate. Period.’ – (mostly) everyone.
