Mamelodi Sundowns hat-trick hero Peter Shalulile enters the history books!

Shalulile is in pole position to clinch the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award this season as he’s currently sitting on 18 goals.

Behind him in the DStv Premiership goalscoring charts is Royal AM marksman Victor Letsoalo who has netted 15 times this season.

SHALULILE ENTERS THE PSL HISTORY BOOKS

Shalulile went into the Swallows game sitting on 15 league goals, and his hat-trick saw him move three goals clear of Letsoalo who netted once in Royal AM’s 2-0 win over Marumo Gallants on the same night.

With his hat-trick, the Sundowns striker became the first PSL player to score thrice in a single match this season.

And it doesnt end there as Shalulile is also the first PSL player to score 18 (and counting) league goals since the 2011/12 season when Siyabonga Nomvethe scored 20 goals for Moroka Swallows.

At this rate, Shalulile looks set to surpass Nomvethe’s goal tally of 20 league goals in a single season given that he still has six more games to play for Sundowns.
