Lewis Smith secures first place in Round 1 of IAME Series UAE

The international karting star Lewis Smith secured the first place in Round 1 of the IAME Series UAE Championship that took place on Sunday, at RAK Track, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

The 16-year-old up and coming driver, sponsored by JBT AeroTech Ground Support Equipment, a worldwide champion in the aviation industry, stole the limelight from 12 skillful contestants from across the world in the X30 Senior category, for competitors aged over 15 years.

Rafael Jesus and Matteo Quintarelli secured the second and third place respectively.

Lewis drove a fantastic 3 rounds of racing qualifying in 2nd place, finished 1st in the pre-final and ended 1st in the overall final.

This victory represents a great milestone for Smith on his way to be a carting superstar worldwide.

Although it was an extremely hard race for Lewis, with temperatures reaching 36 degrees over the 19 lap pre-final and 21 lap final and with many challenges, he managed to overcome all these and come out on top.
