Tragic Accident Claims Lives of LAUTECH Accounting Students

In a devastating incident, an undisclosed number of final-year Accounting students from Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, met a tragic fate during a fatal accident.

This heart-wrenching incident occurred as they were returning from an excursion to Erin-Ijesa Waterfall in Osun State on the evening of September 27.

The accident took a grim turn when the bus they were traveling in suffered a catastrophic crash, resulting in a fire outbreak near the vicinity of Ilobu-Okinni-Osogbo in Osun State.

The precise details surrounding the accident remain unclear at this point.

Lekan Fadeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, confirmed the tragic incident. However, he was unable to provide specific information regarding the number of lives lost, as he awaited further updates on the situation.

Speaking on the incident, he expressed, “I can confirm to you that there was an accident while some students passed on but I have not gotten the details of their identities,” emphasizing the need for more information.

The ill-fated students had organized an excursion to Erin-Ijesa Waterfall following the conclusion of their first-semester exams, as part of their final-year activities.

The accident serves as a somber reminder of the fragility of life and has left the academic community and beyond in mourning for the lives tragically lost in this unfortunate incident.
