Sometimes fashion meets funny—especially when Kristen Bell is involved.
At a glitzy Netflix screening in Los Angeles on Sunday, the Veronica Mars star nearly gave the crowd more than they bargained for thanks to a daring outfit and some hilarious honesty.
“I’m Not Being Weird—I’m Just Not Wearing Pants”
Bell, 44, was on stage with her co-star Adam Brody at the Nobody Wants This screening when she playfully admitted she was struggling to sit properly in her short fringed skirt.
“Can I just also start this as a header?” she quipped.
“I’m not sitting away from you because I’m mad at you.
I’m not wearing pants, and I have to sit in a very specific position.”
Adam, amused, simply said, “I see,” as Bell tried to explain herself mid-laugh.
Another woman on stage chimed in, “I’m also not wearing pants! We were talking about that beforehand!” Brody shot back with a smirk: “You guys should try pants! Honestly, they’re great. They’re amazing.”
Bell made it clear she didn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea.
“I just want to clarify that I’m not being weird,” she said, while Brody repeated, “Understood, understood, understood.”
The Glam Looks That Stole the Spotlight
Despite the wardrobe antics, Bell brought her fashion A-game.
She rocked an edgy, all-black look that blended elegance with modern style.
Her outfit included a sleek faux leather blazer over a satin shirt and shorts, cinched at the waist with a skinny belt attached to dramatic floor-length leather fringe.
She finished off the look with black pumps, tousled beachy waves, and makeup that included a smoky taupe eye, peachy blush, and a soft nude lip.
Brody kept things cozy but sharp, wearing a brown knit cardigan over a printed shirt, paired with black trousers and leather shoes.
Celebrating Season One—and Announcing Season Two
The stars weren’t just there to make fashion statements—they had big news to share.
The Netflix event celebrated the success of Nobody Wants This’s first season and officially announced that the second season will premiere on October 23, 2025.
Joining Bell and Brody on stage were show creator Erin Foster, executive producer Sara Foster, and several cast members including Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn.
Red Carpet Moments With the Full Cast
The cast turned heads with their red carpet looks.
Justine Lupe, who plays Kristen’s sister Morgan on the show, looked chic in a sleeveless gray dress with a cowl neckline and black peep-toe pumps. Her hair was styled in a sleek updo with delicate face-framing pieces.
Jackie Tohn went bold with a pinstripe-on-pinstripe outfit.
She wore an oversized blazer over a sheer top, with matching tights and classic Mary Jane heels.
Timothy Simons kept it casual-cool in a white tee, blue button-down, fleece jacket, black jeans, and clean white sneakers.
Erin Foster wore a cream flowy suit paired with a black top and sandals, while Sara Foster rocked a crisp white button-down with exaggerated cuffs and slim-fit pants.
Behind the Scenes and On the Mic
The event, held at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles, was part of Netflix’s FYSEE Emmy campaign and also featured a live panel recording of Erin and Sara Foster’s The World’s First Podcast.
During the panel, the cast shared behind-the-scenes stories and teased what’s coming next for season two.
In the series, Bell plays Joanne, a skeptical podcast host who unexpectedly falls for Brody’s character Noah, an unorthodox rabbi.
Their romance brings plenty of challenges, especially when their quirky families get involved.

Fans can expect the core cast to return, along with several familiar and new faces.
Returning stars include Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, and Shiloh Berman.
There’s more excitement ahead as Adam Brody’s real-life wife, Gossip Girl alum Leighton Meester, is set to guest star in the new season.
