Kanye West shocks fans with regretful confession about his marriage to Kim Kardashian and custody battle over their children in explosive interview

Kanye West is no stranger to controversy, but his latest interview with DJ Akademiks has taken things to a whole new level.

The 47-year-old rapper, who now goes by Ye, made a series of shocking statements about his past marriage with Kim Kardashian, their children, and a range of other controversial topics during a chaotic, hour-long YouTube interview on Sunday.

Regrets About His Marriage and Kids

During the interview, West expressed deep regret over having children with Kardashian, now 44.

In a moment that left many speechless, he admitted: “That was my fault.

I didn’t want to have kids with this person after the first two months of being with her, but that wasn’t God’s plan.”

His frustration over his children—North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5—was evident as he vented about custody battles.

“I don’t even have name and likeness ownership of my kids, or at least 50-50.

So how’s it joint custody?” he questioned, suggesting that he feels powerless in decisions regarding their upbringing.

Kim’s Control and Family Tensions

West also took aim at Kardashian’s family, claiming that his “highly influential” Black children were being controlled by “this white woman and this white family.”

His frustration seemingly stems from his ongoing dispute over their daughter North’s involvement in the music industry.

The rapper was particularly upset about reports that North was set to collaborate with Playboi Carti, 28—something he strongly opposes.

Ironically, West himself had recently featured North on a song alongside Diddy, a move that reportedly infuriated Kardashian.

A Chaotic Fashion Statement

As if his words weren’t controversial enough, West also made headlines for his bizarre outfit choices during the interview.

Initially, he wore a T-shirt featuring disgraced rapper Diddy and a swastika chain, before stepping away and returning in a black, KKK-style hood and cape.

The moment left Akademiks and his team stunned. West nonchalantly explained that he had both a black and a white version of the outfit custom-made.

When asked if he had worn it in public, he replied, “I wanted to wear it yesterday, but I was worried people would put me in a hospital for my outfit.”

Kanye’s Support for Diddy and Attacks on Virgil Abloh

Despite Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles and serious allegations, West defended the rapper, calling him his “twin.”

His defense of Diddy stood in stark contrast to his comments about the late Virgil Abloh.

When Akademiks confronted him about attacking Abloh in a recent tweet—despite the fact that Abloh is no longer alive to respond—West bluntly admitted, “I’m evil. I’m an evil person.”

Kanye’s Growing Isolation and Business Fallout

West’s erratic behavior in recent months has reportedly cost him both professional and personal relationships.

Sources claim that many of his longtime associates, including his manager John Monopoly, have walked away from him.

Talent agent Daniel McCartney of 33 & West also cut ties in February, stating his decision was due to West’s “harmful and hateful remarks.”

Meanwhile, reports have surfaced that West recently flew to Tokyo, possibly to escape the growing backlash in the U.S.

Antisemitic Controversy and Super Bowl Stunt

West’s interview follows months of increasingly inflammatory behavior.

Earlier this year, he made a series of antisemitic posts on X (formerly Twitter), including praising Hitler, calling himself a Nazi, and dismissing antisemitism as “just some bulls**t Jewish people made up.”

His actions had real-world consequences. Shopify shut down his Yeezy website in February after he attempted to sell a T-shirt featuring a swastika.

Shockingly, just hours before Shopify took action, West had aired an expensive Super Bowl ad promoting the store.

Undeterred, he later doubled down, claiming he would wear the shirt onstage at next year’s Super Bowl, sarcastically posting: “Next year I’m performing at the Super Bowl wearing my wittle T-shirt. People with money bought my wittle T-shirt.”

The Fallout Continues

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and other organizations have strongly condemned West’s recent actions.

The ADL called out his use of the Super Bowl to spread his message, stating: “As if we needed further proof of Kanye’s antisemitism, he chose to put a single item for sale on his website—a T-shirt emblazoned with a swastika.”

Despite the backlash, West appears to be doubling down on his views, showing no signs of slowing his self-destructive spiral.

With key figures in his life cutting ties and his once-thriving businesses crumbling, the question remains: how much further can he push before there’s no way back?
