Joy Reid breaks down in tears as she speaks out for the first time after being fired from MSNBC and expresses gratitude despite anger and disappointment

Joy Reid finally broke her silence after being let go from MSNBC, and her emotions were on full display.

During a heartfelt conversation on the Win With Black Women podcast, Reid opened up about the whirlwind of feelings she experienced—anger, disappointment, and even guilt over the fate of her team.

“I’ve been through every emotion… anger, rage, disappointment, hurt… guilt,” she admitted, acknowledging the impact of her departure not just on herself but on those who worked alongside her.

However, despite the frustration, she ultimately landed on one overwhelming sentiment—gratitude.

No Apologies for Speaking Her Truth

Although The ReidOut was canceled, Reid made it clear she has no regrets about the way she used her platform.

She became emotional as she emphasized that she was never afraid to tackle tough topics like racial justice and immigration rights.

“I’m not sorry that I stood up for those things,” she stated firmly.

“Whether it was talking about Gaza, Black Lives Matter, or immigrant rights, I spoke the truth.

We, as Americans, have the right to object when we see injustice.”

MSNBC’s Response and Uncertain Future

Meanwhile, MSNBC executives remained tight-lipped about the show’s abrupt end.

Network president Rebecca Kutler addressed The ReidOut staff over the weekend but offered little clarity on what happens next.

“We are waiting to get a response from Joy and her team about how she would like to handle this,” Kutler reportedly said, according to Status News.

“The hope is that we will have a final show with Joy.”

As Reid processes this unexpected career shift, her future remains uncertain.

However, one thing is clear—she is not backing down from her convictions.
