Joe Rogan, a figure who has become synonymous with the UFC, has shared the only scenario in which he would leave the organization.

Despite his long tenure as a commentator and close relationship with UFC president Dana White, Rogan made it clear that he’s not considering retirement any time soon, unless one major change happens.

Rogan’s Long-Standing UFC Career

For more than 20 years, Joe Rogan has been a staple of the UFC, beginning as a backstage interviewer before transitioning into his now-iconic role as a color commentator.

Over the years, Rogan has grown beyond just a voice at UFC events, becoming an influential figure in both politics and popular culture, thanks to his widely popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

His association with the UFC is rooted in a deep friendship with Dana White, who convinced Rogan to return as a commentator in 2002.

Initially, Rogan’s involvement came with the promise of free tickets, but it quickly blossomed into a long-lasting collaboration that defined his career in sports broadcasting.

The Only Condition for Rogan’s UFC Exit

As his 58th birthday approaches in August, many have begun to wonder if Rogan has any plans to step away from the UFC.

The answer, for now, is no. Rogan revealed on a recent episode of his podcast with UFC fighter Ilia Topuria that he has no intention of retiring unless Dana White leaves the organization.

“I don’t think about retiring. If Dana White quits, I might quit.

But that’s it,” Rogan explained. “It’s actually in my contract.

If he leaves, I leave. So in my contract if he leaves I don’t have to stay.”

Rogan went on to emphasize how much White’s presence has shaped his decision to stay with the UFC, revealing that he wouldn’t still be involved in the promotion if it weren’t for his longtime friend.

“I wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t for him. Yeah, he’s my friend. He talked me into doing it.”

The Strong Bond Between White and Rogan

Rogan and White’s bond runs deep, having worked together for over two decades.

Their relationship has weathered many storms, including some controversy around Rogan’s comments on COVID-19 in 2020, when White stood by him despite the public backlash.

White has been vocal about his loyalty to Rogan, stating that anyone who has been with him for a long time knows how much he values loyalty.

White has also mentioned that during the pandemic, he wasn’t going to let go of the people who had been with him for years, including Rogan.

“Joe Rogan has been very loyal to me, and I am very loyal to Joe Rogan,” White said.

A Future Built on Loyalty and Friendship

For now, Rogan remains an integral part of the UFC, with no plans to step away unless White retires.

Their unique professional and personal connection has been a defining feature of Rogan’s career, and unless a significant change happens at the top of the UFC, Rogan’s involvement will likely continue for the foreseeable future.
