Police Inspector and Security Guards Shot in Confrontation with Armed Robbers at Remo Majestic Hotel

Violent Confrontation at Remo Majestic Hotel

An Inspector from the Ogun State Police Command, accompanied by two security guards, found themselves in the line of fire during a fierce gun battle with armed robbers who stormed Remo Majestic Hotel in Sagamu.

Fatal Outcome

Tragically, two of the robbers succumbed to their injuries, while others managed to escape, reportedly fleeing into a nearby forest.

The incident resulted in casualties on both sides.

Police Statement

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, released an official statement confirming the harrowing events. She revealed that the rampaging robbers targeted the hotel, where they encountered the police inspector and security guards.

Injured Officers Receiving Medical Care

SP Omolola Odutola went on to report that the wounded law enforcement officers are currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.

Their conditions were described as stable, offering hope for their recovery.

Swift Police Response

In response to the distress call, a combined team of police officers was swiftly mobilized to the scene of the robbery.

The armed confrontation unfolded when the police officers encountered the robbers, who immediately opened fire upon spotting them.

Evidence Recovered

Evidence collected from the crime scene included two locally-made single-barrel guns, expended and unexpended cartridges, a large pair of scissors, multiple mobile phones, and a white Toyota Venza car bearing the registration number BWR 123DD Abuja.

Preliminary Findings

Initial investigations suggest that the suspected armed robbers had mingled with hotel guests before launching their violent assault.

The attack appears to have been meticulously planned, catching both the guests and law enforcement by surprise.

Manhunt for Fleeing Suspects

The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has been briefed on the situation and has issued an order for an immediate manhunt to locate and apprehend the two suspects who managed to escape the scene with bullet wounds.

Their capture is a top priority for law enforcement.

As the investigation unfolds, the focus remains on bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety and security of the community in Sagamu.
