In a surprising turn of events, South African artist Londie London faced a police stoppage due to her association with a BMW 330i allegedly hijacked by her boyfriend, Sphamandla Mabonga.
Reports from Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi indicate that Mabonga, currently recovering in a Johannesburg public hospital, is set to appear in court on Monday, February 5, in connection to the case.
Trauma and Security Measures at Establishment
Following the shooting incident on January 19, 2024, at Tempo Luxury Restaurant and Lounge in Sandton, where Mabonga faced charges of attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm, staff working the night shift have been traumatized.
The establishment has now heightened security measures to ensure the safety of its customers.
Red Bentley and BMW i8 Still Sought
The police investigation reveals that Mabonga’s charges extend to the search for a red Bentley and a BMW i8.
Londie London, who broke up with Mabonga some time ago, declined to comment on the ongoing legal issues.

Eight bodyguards who were with Mabonga on the night of the shooting are currently at large, facing charges similar to those of Mabonga, including attempted murder, assault, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and firearm-related offenses.
The police are actively pursuing the bodyguards, who are wanted for their involvement in the Sandton incident.

Originally scheduled to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, Mabonga, under police guard in the hospital, was unable to do so.
