Kaizer Chiefs fans need to realise it is not all over yet. In case you missed it, Mamelodi Sundowns lost 2-1 to Maritzburg United on Saturday evening.

PSL: KAIZER CHIEFS’ CHANCES TO PRESSURE MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

As we have all been aware, Amakhosi have to face the Disciplinary Committee (DC) after failing to honour two DStv Premiership games last year.

The arbitration will take place at SAFA house between March 28 and April 1. With every law case, there is always the possibility to win. So what would a case win mean for Kaizer Chiefs?

Provided Amakhosi will be granted a chance to play Cape Town City and Golden Arrows instead of getting docked points, the league race will offer exciting late drama.

HERE IS WHAT CAN HAPPEN

With 35 points, 16 behind Sundowns, and with four games in hand, Kaizer Chiefs’ possibility of winning all of these four games in hand would leave Sundowns with just four points ahead.

Right now it is all just theory, we don’t know what will happen inside the arbitration though. But football, as well as the law, have a knack for surprising us all.

Should Amakhosi lose the case and therefore forfeit six points, the club will stay have two games in hand over Sundowns. Winning those two games will cut the gap to 10 points. Additionally, the Glamour Boys still need to face Kabo Yellow on 8 May.

For now, Stuart Baxter’s side will be focusing on the next available three points at home Golden Arrows on Saturday 19 March.
