Harrison Ford isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
With two hit TV shows—1923 and Shrinking—plus a major film role in Captain America: Brave New World, the legendary actor is proving that age is just a number.
A Playful Take on Retirement
At 82, Ford remains as sharp and charismatic as ever.
During a red carpet event in Los Angeles for 1923 Season 2, Entertainment Tonight caught up with him and asked the big question—does he have any plans to retire? Ford’s response? Classic and witty.
“When you forget my name,” he quipped when asked what would make him step away from Hollywood.
He also praised the upcoming season of 1923, which premieres on Paramount+ on February 23, calling it “very strong.”
As for a possible third season, Ford shrugged off any certainty, simply saying, “I just work here.”
He left the decision to Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, adding, “Taylor tells me when he has a story.”
Reflecting on His Career Boom
When asked to describe this phase of his career, Ford humorously summed it up in one word: “Stupid.”
Despite his playful self-deprecation, the interviewer pointed out that he’s “everywhere” right now, to which Ford joked, “A little bit too everywhere for my sensibilities.”
He acknowledged, however, that he’s grateful for the wave of exciting projects he’s been part of.
“I ran into a vein of really good writing, and I thought I’d take advantage of it, and I’m really glad I did,” he admitted.
A Super Bowl Surprise
Beyond his TV and film roles, Ford also made an unexpected appearance in a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep. Interestingly, he initially turned down the opportunity.
In an interview with People, Ford revealed that it was his Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny director, James Mangold, who ultimately convinced him to reconsider.
“You always say no at first,” Ford admitted.
However, after some refining and personalizing, the commercial felt right.
“With James’ input, it came out to be something that I really feel comfortable with.”
The two-minute ad, titled Owner’s Manual, took a different approach compared to the usual high-energy Super Bowl spots. Ford described it as “a rumination on life.”
“It’s about having control and choice in your own life, and it’s about assuming the responsibility for your own life,” he explained.
Unlike the flashy, fast-paced commercials typically seen during the Super Bowl, this one took a more subtle approach.
“It’s not the in-your-face big splash kind of Super Bowl commercial. It’s a soft sell,” Ford noted.
As for his Super Bowl plans? Simple.
“We’re just going to be there, eating and drinking like everybody else,” he laughed.
“I’ve seen the commercial. I know how it ends.”
What’s Next for Ford?
With no signs of stopping, fans are left wondering—what’s next for Harrison Ford?
Whether it’s another season of 1923, more blockbuster films, or another unexpected project, one thing is clear: Hollywood hasn’t seen the last of him yet.
