In an emotional moment that no parent ever wants to experience, Treva S. Watkins took to social media to share heartbreaking news: her daughter, Felicia “Fefe” Dani Ocon, has passed away.
The young woman, who many knew as vibrant and full of life, died by suicide on April 3, 2025.
This devastating announcement has left friends, family, and followers stunned—and it sheds light on a deeper struggle Felicia was silently battling.
A Heartfelt Message Shared Online
Treva didn’t hold back in expressing her pain and grief. In a touching and raw post, she wrote:
“It’s with the heaviest of hearts that I announce the passing of my daughter Felicia… aka Fefe and Dani. She ended her life on April 3, 2025.
She suffered from severe depression and had super highs and the lowest of lows.”
She went on to say that her daughter didn’t mean to hurt anyone with her decision.
Instead, she believed she was finding a way out of what felt like an unbearable situation—a permanent solution to what was, in reality, a temporary problem.
The Hidden Struggles Behind the Smile
Treva’s message struck a powerful chord because it revealed a painful truth: mental illness doesn’t always look like what we expect.
Felicia was a beautiful young woman, had a solid job, and seemed to be doing well on the surface. But inside, she was struggling deeply.
“A pretty girl who held down a good job isn’t what we usually picture when we think of someone suffering from severe depression,” Treva wrote.
“But that was my daughter—severely depressed and hiding it behind a smile and bottles of Tequila and Vodka. She told people she was just ‘turning up.’”
Treva’s words are a gut-wrenching reminder that depression can wear many faces—even the ones that look like they have it all together.
“Look at the Face of Depression… It’s My Child”
In her powerful message, Treva urged others to really see the signs, to look past the surface, and to check on the people they love.
She ended her post with a haunting statement:
“Look at the face of depression… because it’s MY CHILD.”
Her brave decision to share this personal pain with the world shines a light on how deeply mental health can affect people—even when they seem okay.
It’s a call to action for all of us to speak up, listen, and be there for one another in a world where so much can be hidden behind a smile.
