Gino D’Acampo denies shocking allegations as ITV investigates claims of inappropriate behavior over the past decade

Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo is reportedly deeply concerned about the emotional toll recent allegations are having on his family.

The 48-year-old TV personality has been accused of inappropriate and intimidating behavior spanning over a decade, with several individuals coming forward to describe their experiences as “distressing” and “unacceptable.”

The allegations, which have been described as “horrendous” by some, have led to an ITV investigation into D’Acampo’s conduct.

Reports suggest that one of the claims involves an incident during live filming, where D’Acampo allegedly drew an explicit picture of a female crew member after offering to sketch her portrait.

The woman, taken aback by the drawing, stated that she felt “shocked and humiliated” by what she saw.

She also alleged that the chef made an inappropriate comment about her leather boots.

ITV Investigation Underway

ITV bosses are now looking into these claims, which were initially reported by The Sun. D’Acampo’s team responded swiftly, issuing a statement emphasizing that he was first made aware of the accusations on February 22, 2025.

According to his representatives, the allegations remain vague, lacking specific details such as the year, individuals involved, or full context.

His statement denies all claims, asserting that they are “simply not in his nature.”

He further stated that he has never been made aware of any complaints before and that he is fully willing to cooperate with ITV to address the situation.

D’Acampo also expressed distress over the impact the controversy is having on his loved ones, urging ITV to reach out to him directly.

Standing by Her Husband

Amid the swirling controversy, D’Acampo’s wife, Jessica, has reportedly remained unwavering in her support. Married since 2002, the couple shares three children, and sources close to them claim that the ordeal has only strengthened their bond.

A family friend described Jessica as “100 percent standing by him” and expressed frustration over the public scrutiny D’Acampo is facing.

“This situation has actually brought them closer together,” the source added. “Jessica knows the truth and has been a rock for Gino throughout this ordeal. He is determined to clear his name.”

Former Co-Host Speaks Out

Adding another layer to the controversy, former TV host Melanie Sykes has spoken out about the industry’s toxic culture, calling for a “clean-out” of inappropriate behavior.

Sykes, who co-hosted Let’s Do Lunch with D’Acampo for three years, has previously been vocal about her own negative experiences in the industry.

While she did not make any direct allegations against D’Acampo, she highlighted the broader issue of misconduct within television circles.

She recounted feeling like she was “in a war zone” during her 24-year career and criticized networks for failing to take responsibility when allegations arise.

More Claims Emerge

In addition to the ITV probe, further claims against D’Acampo have come to light.

One such incident reportedly took place at a black-tie charity event in 2012, where he allegedly kissed a footballer’s wife without consent in front of attendees.

Witnesses at the event described the moment as sudden and inappropriate, with D’Acampo allegedly bragging afterward that he did it “because I f****** can.”

While the woman involved has not been named to protect her privacy, those present recalled that the incident left guests stunned.

ITV Responds

ITV has since issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a professional and respectful workplace.

The network emphasized that it has strengthened its policies over the past five years and introduced a Complaints Handling Unit in 2024 to ensure proper management of allegations involving on-screen talent.

“The standards of behavior that ITV expects are very clear,” the statement read.

“We do not tolerate abusive behavior of any form in the workplace. The behavior detailed in recent reports is inappropriate and unacceptable.”

As investigations continue, D’Acampo remains steadfast in denying all allegations, with his supporters urging patience as the situation unfolds.

Whether ITV will take further action remains to be seen, but the controversy surrounding the celebrity chef shows no signs of fading anytime soon.
