The scarcely-believable crime caught the coppers off-guard. The motorcycle went missing in Krugersdorp earlier today, and hasn’t been seen since. The bike comes complete with blue lights, a siren, and branding for the Gauteng Traffic Department.

Equipped to speed through city centres and reach incredible velocities, this motorcycle can’t be hidden forever, and the authorities are confident they can recover this piece of expensive equipment. The BMW-made bike has a number plate which reads FZ40 FPGP.

It’s hoped that the joyride won’t last long for these perpetrators. But the damage has already been done to the Traffic Department, who must now operate without one of their key assets. What’s more, the incident has left the local police force with egg on its face.

Criminals ‘fearing fokol’ in South Africa

This brazen act of criminality likely proves that South Africa’s criminal class is now operating with impunity, and do not fear the consequences – regardless of who they are targeting. Nonetheless, domestic anti-crime advocates are already on the case.

Both Yusuf Abramjee and CrimeAirNetwork have posted details of the missing motorcycle, in the hope that it can be found swiftly:
