Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State officially sanctioned the N800 billion 2024 Appropriation Bill, termed the ‘Budget of Renewed Hope, Consolidation, and Continuity,’ in a significant signing ceremony held at the Government House in Port Harcourt’s Governor’s Office conference room.

The signing ceremony, presided over by Governor Fubara, took place following the prior presentation of the budget estimates to the State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Edison Ehie.

The event garnered the presence of Deputy Governor Prof Ngozi Odu, State Executive Council members, former and current lawmakers supporting Governor Fubara, as well as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Local Government Area chairpersons.

The four-member State House of Assembly, led by Ehie, ratified the budget estimates despite prior controversies, including the demolition of the Assembly complex. Notably, the assembly declared vacant the seats of 27 members who defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
