In the heart of Melbourne, a man and a woman have been stabbed, dispersing scared bystanders during rush hour.

Police say that around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, a woman attacked a man on Flinders Block in Melbourne’s central business district before continuing down the street and stabbing a lady.

The alleged attacker committed both assaults on the same busy roadway before being caught nearby.

Both the man and lady who were stabbed were brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man was stabbed at the intersection of Downie street and the main road Flinders street, before the alleged attacker stabbed another woman 50 meters down the road at the corner of Spencer street.

In the aftermath, swarms of people gathered along Flinders street as police and ambulances descended onto the road, passing by diverted rush-hour traffic.

“Between Collins Street and Flinders Street, southbound lanes are closed due to a police incident. Please use King Street instead and follow the directions of emergency services, tweeted Victoria Traffic as Victoria police created crime scenes.

The police have not yet determined the incident’s specific circumstances and are conducting their investigation.
