Creamy pasta Alfredo: The Italian classic family pasta

Few family lunches are as satisfying as a simple spaghetti dish. While some pasta dishes, such as bolognese, can take a long time to prepare, others, such as our Creamy Pasta Alfredo, are quick to prepare.
Alfredo sauce is a creamy pasta sauce composed with cream, black pepper, and ham.
When you’ve had a tough week at work and don’t want to cook for an extended period of time, this recipe will come in handy.

When you’ve made your pasta, never discard all of the pasta water and save about half a cup.
When mixing the pasta into your pre-made sauce, add small amount of the pasta water which will thicken and bind the sauce even more. You can add some high-quality ham bits or even bacon to your pasta if you want to.

By adding mushrooms, spring onions and garlic, this dish of pasta alfredo will be a family favourite.


  • 500 g cooked pasta of your choice

  • 250 ml cream

  • 150 ml parmesan cheese

  • 20 ml butter

  • 100 g sliced mushrooms

  • 1 clove fresh garlic, crushed

  • salt

  • pepper

  • chopped parsley


  • In a sauce pan, heat the butter on medium heat. Add the mushrooms and garlic. Add the cream. Stir the mixture constantly to prevent burning. Add the parmesan cheese. Stir the mixture gently. This will thicken the sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the sauce over the cooked pasta, then add the parsley.
  • After dishing the pasta, sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Top with more parsley and serve.
