Corbyn Supporter and Social Media Activist Spearheads Pro-Palestine Rally Outside Tobias Ellwood’s Bournemouth Home

A pro-Palestine protest mob targeted the family home of Tobias Ellwood, with the ringleader identified as Corrie Drew, a passionate Corbynista who previously stood against the Tory MP in the 2019 general election.

Drew, a former Labour candidate for Bournemouth East, garnered attention during her campaign by setting up fundraisers to support her efforts. She eventually came in second in the election, losing to Ellwood.

Drew’s Background and Activism

Drew, who works in social media, was a vocal supporter of Jeremy Corbyn but left the Labour party in 2021, citing disillusionment with Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership. Describing herself as working class, Drew campaigned on issues such as poverty, climate change, and animal cruelty from a young age.

She holds a first-class degree in horology and has been actively involved in various social and political causes.

Criticism and Controversies

Drew has been vocal on social media, criticizing figures like Tony Blair and JK Rowling for their actions and statements.

She has also been involved in campaigns against racism and discrimination, including leading efforts to remove a statue of Lord Baden-Powell due to his controversial views.

The Protest and Its Demands

The recent protest outside Ellwood’s home was in response to the Israeli attacks on Rafah.

Protesters demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and accused Ellwood of complicity in war crimes.

The demonstration, attended by around 100 people, featured chants and placards calling for an end to the occupation and apartheid in Palestine.

Response and Police Action

Dorset Police attended the scene to ensure the protest remained lawful and peaceful.

The group dispersed without incident, and no arrests were made.

The Palestine Solidarity Movement BCP branch organized the protest, calling for a large turnout to make a significant impact and be heard.
