Christendom Celebrates Christmas Today

Today is Christmas, a time of spiritual reflection on the faimportant foundations of the Christian faith, and when Christians celebrate God’s love for the world through the birth of Jesus Christ hundreds of years ago.

As Christians all over the world celebrate the day, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor has urged Nigerians to use the opportunity offered by the season to resolve to love one another and live together in peace.

In his Christmas Message, Right Honourable Okafor enjoined politicians and religious leaders to be more statesman-like, law abiding and place greater interest of the country above all personal or sectional interests.

The Speaker appealed to President Mohammed Buhari to include in his 2022 new year broadcast, operational directives for immediate reconstruction of all failed federal roads in the Southeast zone and appointment of more people from the zone in his cabinet.

He said that since Jesus Christ preached and ensured peace among people and nations, Christians and non-Christians should pursue peace at all times and shun acts capable of disuniting the country.

While wishing Ndi Anambra a happy Christmas celebration, Right Honourable Okafor urged them to remain peaceful and intensify prayers and support to enable Governor Willie Obiano finish strong, even as he prayed for smooth handover of government to the Governor-elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
