Casemiro expresses frustration over limited game time as Manchester United struggles to find consistency this season

Casemiro is not the kind of player who is content with just collecting his paycheck and warming the bench.

Despite earning a staggering £375,000 a week, the 33-year-old Brazilian midfielder has made it clear that he wants to be on the pitch, contributing to Manchester United’s success rather than sitting on the sidelines.

The five-time Champions League winner was back in the starting lineup against Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday, marking only his 19th start in 43 games this season.

For a player of his caliber and experience, that’s far from enough.

Respecting the Coach but Wanting More Minutes

Casemiro still has 16 months left on his contract at Old Trafford, with an option for another year.

While he has no immediate plans to leave, he has also emphasized that he isn’t willing to simply play a minor role.

“If a player is on the bench and is happy, that player is not worth anything for any team,” Casemiro stated.

“Of course, I want to play. I want to have more minutes, but the coach makes the decisions, and I respect him and the club.”

His professionalism and commitment remain unwavering.

“Every day I go to Carrington or Old Trafford, I try to do my best. That’s my biggest quality,” he added, reinforcing his dedication to the club.

Uncertain Future Amid United’s Plans to Restructure

As Manchester United prepares for another squad shake-up in the summer, Casemiro’s future is expected to come under further scrutiny.

With the club looking to trim their wage bill and inject fresh talent into the squad, questions will arise about whether he fits into manager Ruben Amorim’s long-term vision.

For now, Casemiro is focused on the present, with a massive Premier League clash against Arsenal on the horizon.

With injuries and suspensions ruling out key players like Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo, the experienced midfielder may be called upon to play a crucial role in Sunday’s match at Old Trafford.

“I’m here, I’m available, with total happiness, and I’m ready for the coach and the club,” Casemiro said. “As everyone knows, I’m a big character for the club.”

United Boss Acknowledges the Challenge Ahead

Manager Ruben Amorim has made it clear that his squad will need to “survive” against a strong Arsenal side.

However, he did provide a bit of positive news regarding Amad Diallo’s recovery, hinting that the young winger could still make an appearance before the season ends.

“Amad, we will see in the last month,” Amorim confirmed.

“I hope to have him before the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, Amorim acknowledged the pressure of managing Manchester United, stating that he doesn’t expect to be given the same amount of time as Mikel Arteta had at Arsenal to turn things around.

“I think it’s a different club,” he admitted. “I will not have the time like Arteta had.”

A Defining Period for Casemiro and United

With key games ahead and big decisions looming in the summer, Casemiro’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain. What is clear, however, is that the Brazilian remains as competitive and passionate as ever.

Whether he stays or moves on, he wants to do what he does best—play football and make an impact on the pitch.
