Camper Claims He Encountered a 15-Foot Sasquatch in Oregon’s Rogue National Forest During Solo Trip

For many, the idea of Bigfoot is something from childhood stories, an elusive creature who’s only spoken about in whispers around campfires.

But for one camper, this fantasy became a terrifying reality when he came face-to-face with what he believes to be the legendary Sasquatch.

A Late-Night Discovery

Troy Olivadoti, a seasoned solo camper, was in Oregon’s Rogue National Forest, an area notoriously known for numerous Sasquatch sightings.

One night, at exactly 11:50 p.m., he was jolted awake by an unsettling noise just outside his tent.

Initially, he thought it was an elk running through the woods, a sound he had heard many times before during his trips.

However, as the sounds grew louder and closer, he quickly realized that the animal making the noise was moving with incredible speed and covering vast distances.

In his mind, a human wouldn’t be able to move that fast through such dense forest, especially not in the pitch-black dark.

The Unmistakable Sounds of Bigfoot

Olivadoti listened closely, trying to make sense of what was happening around him.

What followed next, however, would leave him truly puzzled. He described hearing three distinct knocks, as if wood were striking wood.

These were not sounds typical of the forest at night.

He had never encountered anything like it before.

“It caught my attention right away,” he recalled. “I thought maybe it was a predator, something like a cougar, but then I heard it again.

Three more knocks, further away this time. Then, another set of knocks farther still.”

For the next few minutes, he heard several more sets of identical knocks, each fading as the creature moved further into the forest.

Each set of knocks seemed to indicate that the creature was moving along the same path as the elk.

A Race Against the Darkness

The experience left Olivadoti shaken. He knew the terrain well, and he had been in the area earlier that day.

The ground was difficult to navigate, filled with tangled branches and thick brambles.

The idea that whatever was out there could cover such terrain, in total darkness, at such speed, was unfathomable to him.

“A man couldn’t have done that,” he thought. “There’s no way anyone could move through that mess that quickly, especially at night.”

The whole experience, he said, was the strangest thing he’d ever encountered.

Reporting the Sighting to Bigfoot Researchers

Still unsettled by what he’d experienced, Olivadoti submitted a report to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO).

This group, founded in 1995, collects witness accounts and physical evidence in an effort to prove the existence of Bigfoot.

While the BFRO categorized his encounter as a “Class B” case, meaning it was credible but lacked supporting evidence, it was clear that Olivadoti’s story added another layer of mystery to the legends surrounding the forest.

Olivadoti’s sighting took place in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, a location well-known for its alleged connections to Bigfoot, and home to the world’s only Bigfoot ‘trap,’ further cementing the eerie reputation of the area.

Unanswered Questions

As Olivadoti reflected on his terrifying experience, he couldn’t help but wonder: what was it that he had encountered in the dark woods that night? Was it truly the legendary Bigfoot, or something else entirely? With no concrete evidence, the mystery remains unsolved.

However, one thing is certain—his belief in the Sasquatch is stronger than ever.
