The charges against the couple, along with six other individuals, revolve around their suspected roles in pressuring chicken merchants in Mexico City.

Specifically, the group stands accused of kidnapping employees of a poultry shop in Toluca.

Authorities have identified key figures within the alleged extortion plot, including one nicknamed “Chicken,” accused of overseeing extortion activities, and another named Santiago N, believed to have driven a vehicle used in transporting the kidnapped victims. Nabor N is highlighted as a central figure controlling the chicken and egg trade.

Failed Extortion Attempts and Financial Consequences

The extortion attempts aimed at the chicken business reportedly resulted in failure, costing the group an estimated $47 million, according to investigating authorities.
