Blake Lively is intensifying her legal fight with Justin Baldoni by sending subpoenas to major cell carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
The actress is seeking more evidence to back her claims that Baldoni, her co-star and director in It Ends With Us, has been behind a smear campaign against her.
Lively’s Legal Push for Proof Amidst Smear Campaign Allegations
Lively’s legal team is also reaching out to internet service providers such as Cloudflare and AOL, as well as Jed Wallace, a crisis consultant accused of assisting Baldoni in orchestrating a digital smear campaign.
The consultant, Wallace, has firmly denied the allegations and countersued Lively for defamation, seeking $7 million in damages.
According to Lively’s legal team, this new phase of discovery aims to uncover the people and methods used to damage Lively’s reputation and personal life over the past year.
They are determined to reveal the full extent of the campaign orchestrated against her, especially after Lively’s team claimed to have obtained crucial evidence through messages and documents.
Baldoni Responds with Legal Defenses and a Website for Transparency
The allegations against Baldoni came to light in December 2024 when Lively accused him of both sexual harassment and running a campaign to discredit her.
The New York Times published text messages that Lively cited as evidence in her claims.
Baldoni, in turn, stated that these texts were incomplete and released what he believes to be the full, unedited versions in a defamation lawsuit against the New York Times.
In early January, Baldoni’s team filed additional lawsuits involving Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Baldoni also launched a website dedicated to defending himself, claiming it would provide transparency in his legal battle and offering what he calls “receipts” for the claims made against him.
Crisis PR and Smear Tactics Alleged by Lively
Lively alleges that Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, hired crisis PR expert Melissa Nathan to discredit her.
She also claims that Nathan’s team, along with Wallace, used their resources to carry out an online smear campaign aimed at destroying Lively’s career, particularly at a time when she was launching a new product line.
Lively’s attorneys have expressed their intent to investigate Wallace’s business practices thoroughly and uncover further actions he may have taken as part of the smear operation.
Text messages obtained by Lively’s team seem to show Nathan discussing plans to “bury” Lively, referring to how easily the public could be influenced to turn against her.
Baldoni Denies Allegations, Claims Lively and Her Team Are the Aggressors
Baldoni has strongly denied the accusations, arguing that Lively’s claims are false and a desperate attempt to repair her reputation, which he asserts was damaged by her own actions during the It Ends With Us film campaign.
His legal team maintains that the negative public perception of Lively came from her own remarks and behaviors in the media.
Baldoni has also shared a timeline of events on his website, further defending his position in the ongoing legal dispute.
His attorney, Bryan Freedman, argues that the new evidence highlights Lively’s efforts to destroy Baldoni’s reputation through lies and false accusations.
The Trial Date Set for March 2026
Both Lively and Baldoni, along with Ryan Reynolds, are scheduled to appear in court for a trial in New York on March 29, 2026.
The ongoing legal battle, which has captivated public attention, is far from over, and both sides are preparing for a lengthy court process to present their claims and defenses.
