Court Reprimands Adam Kabbout, 24 for sexual assault

When four strangers gatecrashed the date, an innocent online app hook-up degenerated into an accused gang rape of a lady, 22.

When the accused victim went to meet a man she’d been messaging on the app, four additional males reportedly showed up and sexually attacked her.

After the victim reported police she was allegedly sexually assaulted at a residence in Belmore on Saturday, April 16, Strike Force Herb was formed.

After a two-month investigation, police raided four residences in Ashcroft, Fairfield West, and Busby in Sydney’s south-west before daybreak on Friday.

As detectives continue their investigation, two males have been charged with several sex assault offenses in connection with the alleged crime.

Adam Kabbout, 24, was detained at a property in Ashcroft and transferred to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with six charges of serious sex assault in the presence of others.

When he appeared before Liverpool Local Court later that day, he was denied bail.

A second male, 19, was detained and charged with two counts of aggravated sex assault offender in company with other person/s at Granville Police Station this morning.

He was released on conditional bail and ordered to appear at Burwood Local Court on July 7.

Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad Superintendent Jayne Doherty asked anybody who had a similar experience to come forward.

‘If anyone else has had a similar interaction through any dating app, or even if you’ve met up with someone at a pub or a club and had a similar event, I would encourage them to come forward and report it to the police,’ she added.

Strike Force Herb investigations are still ongoing, according to NSW Police.
