Baroka FC will officially campaign in the GladAfrica Championship next season following their relegation from the PSL on Saturday.
Bakgakga Ba Mphahlele needed to win their match away to Maritzburg United to avoid automatic relegation to the First Division.
However, they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat while 15th-placed Swallows FC could only afford a 2-2 draw away to Kaizer Chiefs on the same day.
The South African takes a look at FIVE Baroka stars that are just too good to go down to GladAfrica Championship with Baroka.

TOO GOOD TO GO DOWN: FIVE BAROKA STARS THAT DON’T DESERVE TO GO TO GLADAFRICA CHAMPIONSHIP
JACKSON MABOKGWANE
Mabokgwane arrived at Baroka towards the end of the season to try and help them avoid relegation, and he did a brilliant job in between the sticks in the few games that he played.
Given his experience and quality, Mabokgwane, surely, will be among the goalkeepers sought after by PSL teams now that Baroka are relegated.
EVIDENCE MAKGOPA
The 21-year-old Bafana Bafana striker didn’t have the best of seasons with Baroka but his work rate and quality speak volumes.
There is already talk of Orlando Pirates possibly signing him ahead of next season but even if the proposed move doesn’t materialise, Makgopa won’t struggle finding a team.
RICHARD MBULU
Mbulu, 28, enjoyed his football with Baroka so much so that he became a real stalwart for the club over the last three seasons.
His 11 goals and four assists in 75 matches for Baroka could see him secure a deal elsewhere in the DStv Premiership but definitely not in the GladAfrica Championship.
DECIDE CHAUKE
The 26-year-old arrived at Baroka at the start of the season, and there were huge expectations as he was signed on the back of a good season he had with TS Sporting.
Nonetheless, it wasn’t to be as he netted just once in 19 league games for Baroka – but before then, there was already talk of him possibly joining one of the Gauteng giants.
DENWIN FARMER
Farmer is a 25-year-old centre-back who can also play as a left-back – his versatility could do him a world of good in his search for a new club.
Having previously played for SuperSport United and Maritzburg United, Farmer has everything to play for any team in the PSL.
