As Christians world over celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has called on Christians to focus on the essence of Christmas celebration which has to do with divine commitment and human responsibility.

Delivering his Christmas message to Ndi Anambra, Archbishop Ibezim stated that God is sovereign and every human created in his image has a divine role to play, calling on Christians to live their lives as people sent by God in order to accomplish his mission.

He said that in the midst of difficulties and challenges, God is looking for people who would depend on him and work out salvation.

Archbishop Ibezim encouraged Christians to become sacrificial to one another especially this season, adding that by so doing, they are really enacting the spirit of giving that God initiated.
