Alor Community Idemili South Council  Area Holds Annual General Meeting, Convention

Alor Community in Idemili South Council Area of Anambra State recently came alive as colourful appearances characterized its annual general meeting and convention.

During the event held at Obiezeagbudugbu, four cabinet members also known as ‘Ichie’s and ‘Ide’s were installed.

The Traditional Ruler of Alor, Igwe MacAnthony Okonkwo performed the formal ceremony.

The proper initiation ceremony was held indoors within the Obi Alor premises before they were publicly presented to the community members.

According to Igwe Okonkwo, the induction ceremony entails that his reign enjoys the acceptance of his people as different villages met, decided and presented the inductees to him.

While saying that he is the only government recognised monarch of Alor, Igwe Okonkwo used the occasion to call on those parading themselves as traditional rulers in the community to desist as power belongs to God.

Earlier, the President General of Alor People’s Convention, Chief Chris Okudo underscored the strategic importance of the annual convention, and maintained that the community members believe, preach and practice peace which was why each unit of the community is unanimous with the people that will represent them at the Royal cabinet.

Some of the people inducted into the Igwe’s cabinet, such as Chief Christopher Igwego among others, thanked God for the opportunity while pledging to use their new positions to better the lot of their people in furtherance to the development of Alor Community in particular and the society at large.

Large number of spectators comprising stakeholders and leaders of Alor attended the ceremony which witnessed different musical performances and displays.
