Alex Murdaugh, a legal successor to South Carolina, will be accused with killing his wife and kid in 2021 this week.

That Murdaugh, 63, will face charges this week has been communicated to his family. On Thursday, testimony will be presented before the grand jury.

What exactly such evidence is is unknown.

Regarding the money he allegedly took from his legal company, Murdaugh continues to be held in county jail on fraud and embezzlement charges.

Requests for comment on Tuesday were not immediately answered by his brother, who is also his lawyer.

Last summer, Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were discovered dead in their home.

This baffling tragedy marked the start of a protracted legal odyssey for the affluent South Carolina family.

Since then, Alex has been accused of attempting to conduct life insurance fraud, and concerns about the family’s troubled past have surfaced.

On June 7, Maggie, 52, and Paul, 22, were discovered shot to death on the property of the family home.

Alex said over the phone to 911 that he had just arrived home to discover them there while sobbing and screaming.

There have never been any other suspects identified, and SLED, or the State Law Enforcement Division, has never revealed whether or not Alex had a defense.

It was discovered in the months that followed that Murdaugh had used stolen funds from his legal practice to support his opiate addiction.

Then, in an effort to help his surviving son, Buster, he attempted to fake his own murder.

Maggie and Paul’s killings raised concerns about the family’s troubled past.

It was revealed that Gloria Satterfield, the Murdaugh family’s housekeeper, passed away three weeks after collapsing in their home in 2018.

After Alex persuaded her kids to sue the family for insurance money, the boys later sued him directly, alleging that he had stolen the insurance money he had promised them.

Prior to his passing, Paul Murdaugh also took part in a watercraft accident that killed Mallory Beach, a 19-year-old.

She was flung into the water when the boat crashed while he was operating it while intoxicated.
