Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has pledged to mobilise political support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, arguing that the president needs another four years to consolidate his administration’s economic reforms.

Adeleke made the declaration on Wednesday during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the State House in Abuja, where he urged political leaders and supporters to intensify preparations for the next presidential election.

The governor, who recently won re-election under the Accord Party, expressed confidence in Tinubu’s prospects for a second term and called on Nigerians to support the president as his administration pursues its policy agenda.

Adeleke Says Tinubu Needs More Time to Deliver Reforms

Explaining his decision to support Tinubu’s re-election, Adeleke said the president should be given additional time to establish the intended impact of his economic reforms.

He told the gathering that four years would not be sufficient for the administration’s policies to achieve their full objectives, noting that implementing reforms was a difficult process.

The governor said his presence at the campaign council’s inauguration reflected his willingness to contribute to the effort to secure Tinubu another term in office.

His remarks placed economic reform and continuity at the centre of his argument for supporting the president in the 2027 election.

Osun Governor Expresses Confidence in Tinubu’s Second-Term Bid

Adeleke also conveyed confidence that the political movement supporting Tinubu would gather momentum ahead of the election.

Addressing party leaders and other attendees, he declared that the campaign would continue with determination, predicting that supporters would work towards returning the president to the Presidential Villa.

He called on political stakeholders to turn their support into practical campaign activities rather than relying solely on speeches and public declarations.

According to Adeleke, preparations were already underway, and supporters needed to begin working towards the president’s re-election without delay.

Adeleke Urges Supporters to Begin Campaign Work

The Osun governor stressed that there was little time to waste as political groups prepared for the 2027 presidential contest.

He told the gathering that he had already begun his own efforts and encouraged other supporters to step up their activities to improve Tinubu’s chances of returning to office.

Adeleke called for a coordinated effort among political leaders and supporters, emphasising the need to sustain the campaign throughout the period leading up to the election.

His comments came as the APC continued organising its presidential campaign structure across states and other parts of the country.

Governor Calls for Prayers for Tinubu and Other Leaders

Beyond political mobilisation, Adeleke urged Nigerians to pray for Tinubu and other leaders, saying the country’s broader progress was linked to the success of those in government.

He expressed hope that the president would achieve his objectives and that the country would benefit from the administration’s efforts.

The governor’s appeal for prayers accompanied his call for political support, as he encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful about the country’s future.

Adeleke Named Osun Coordinator in Revised Campaign Council

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Adeleke had been appointed coordinator of Tinubu’s presidential campaign in Osun State in a revised list of campaign council members released on Tuesday.

The updated list also named Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike as coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT, alongside Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The appointments indicate efforts to organise campaign activities across different states and political constituencies ahead of the presidential election.

Adeleke’s role is particularly notable because he recently secured another term as Osun governor under the Accord Party rather than the APC.

APC Describes Campaign Council as a Rainbow Coalition

Speaking at the inauguration, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda described the campaign council as a “rainbow coalition”, highlighting the participation of people from different political parties.

The description reflected the broader effort to bring together political figures and supporters from different backgrounds behind Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

The APC is scheduled to formally launch its presidential campaign in Kaduna on October 24, marking another stage in preparations for the 2027 election.

With campaign structures being established and political figures declaring their positions, the contest for the presidency is already taking shape well ahead of election day.
