Adam Sandler Stunned Police With One Unexpected Call Just Days After Officiating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding

Just days after standing in front of one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year, Adam Sandler traded the spotlight for a neighborhood basketball court in Massachusetts.

The actor and comedian reportedly arrived in Nantucket with his family only 48 hours after officiating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s lavish wedding ceremony, but instead of relaxing quietly, he made an unexpected phone call that caught local authorities off guard.

A Call to Police With an Unusual Request

According to local reports, Sandler contacted the Nantucket Police Department’s non-emergency line looking for something far less dramatic than people might expect.

Rather than reporting an incident or asking for assistance, the 59-year-old simply wanted to know where he could join a public pick-up basketball game during his stay on the island.

Public safety dispatcher Chris Reynolds recalled that Sandler explained he enjoyed playing basketball and hoped someone could point him toward an open court where locals regularly played.

Local Court Becomes Celebrity Hangout

Reynolds directed Sandler to the Backus Lane basketball courts near Surfside Road, where residents were already in the middle of a game.

One of those players, Andrew Kesler, said the Hollywood star casually arrived by car before asking if he could stretch and join the action. The encounter quickly turned into an unforgettable afternoon for everyone on the court.

Kesler praised Sandler’s style of play, describing him as an excellent passer and playmaker who preferred setting up teammates rather than constantly looking for his own shot.

Basketball Passion Continues Beyond the Wedding

Sandler’s appearance on the Nantucket court came as little surprise to fans familiar with his love for basketball.

Before traveling to Massachusetts, he had already been spotted playing outdoor basketball in New York City despite soaring summer temperatures, only hours before serving as the officiant at Swift and Kelce’s high-profile wedding ceremony at Madison Square Garden.

Following his stop in Nantucket, Sandler and his family reportedly continued on to New Hampshire to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday.

Wedding Silence Sparks Curiosity Online

Although Sandler played a central role in Swift and Kelce’s wedding, he has remained publicly quiet about the event.

Instead of commenting on the ceremony, he shared a patriotic Independence Day message on social media, posting a historical American flag alongside a simple greeting celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary.

The decision immediately drew attention from Taylor Swift fans, many of whom had expected behind-the-scenes stories from the wedding instead of a holiday tribute.

Swifties Flood Social Media With Jokes

Fans quickly filled the replies with playful comments, joking that Sandler should break his apparent silence about the celebrity wedding.

Some humorously urged him to ignore any confidentiality agreements, while others teased that he was acting as though he had not just officiated one of the biggest entertainment events of the year.

The comedian, however, has continued to avoid discussing the ceremony publicly.

Longstanding Friendship With the Newlyweds

Sandler’s connection with both Swift and Kelce stretches back several years.

He first met Swift in person while attending the premiere of her Eras Tour concert film with his daughters, Sadie and Sunny, who are longtime admirers of the singer.

His relationship with Kelce also grew after the NFL star appeared in Happy Gilmore 2, with Sandler previously praising him as both a talented performer and a genuinely kind person.

Family Has Always Supported the Romance

Long before the couple exchanged vows, Sandler openly spoke about how excited his family was to see Swift and Kelce together.

During an appearance on the New Heights podcast, he revealed that his daughters enthusiastically followed the relationship and loved seeing the singer happy.

He has also spoken warmly about Swift’s music, admitting that both he and his daughters know nearly every lyric from her catalog and comparing her impact on music to that of The Beatles.

While Sandler has kept the wedding itself under wraps, his spontaneous basketball adventure in Nantucket has offered fans another glimpse into the down-to-earth personality that has made him one of Hollywood’s most relatable stars.
