Former Senator Urges Ishaku Abbo to Accept Court’s Ruling and Exit the Senate

Former Senator Advises Ishaku Abbo to Respect Court Decision

Former federal lawmaker Senator Smart Adeyemi has weighed in on the recent Court of Appeal ruling that sacked Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo and directed INEC to issue the Certificate of Return to Rev. Amos Yohanna Kumai. Adeyemi advises Abbo to accept the court’s verdict gracefully.

Court of Appeal Decision on Abbo’s Sacking

The Court of Appeal in Abuja recently ruled to remove Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo from his position representing the Adamawa Northern Senatorial District.

This decision came with instructions for INEC to withdraw Abbo’s Certificate of Return and issue it to the Peoples Democratic Party’s Rev. Amos Yohanna Kumai.

Abbo’s Accusations and Apology

Following his removal from the Senate, Abbo accused the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of pursuing a vendetta against him due to their differences in the Senate.

However, Abbo later apologized to Akpabio, acknowledging the premature nature of his accusations.

Smart Adeyemi’s Perspective

In an interview with TVC News, Senator Smart Adeyemi expressed his belief that Senate President Akpabio would not engage in a witch-hunt against any senator.

He emphasized that such actions would run contrary to the values upheld in the National Assembly.

Challenges in a New Assembly

Adeyemi acknowledged that difficulties often arise in a newly formed Assembly, especially when dealing with a large number of newcomers.

He believes that, with time, stability and understanding can be achieved within the Senate.

A Plea for Abbo to Accept the Court’s Decision

Senator Adeyemi, who was also forced out of the Senate due to his stance on national issues, urged Abbo to accept the court’s judgment in good faith.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Senate and encouraged Abbo to believe in the potential for a better tomorrow.

Reevaluating the Legal System

Adeyemi expressed his concern over Abbo’s serious allegations and called on the judiciary to thoroughly assess the situation, considering various factors that may not be related to the Senate President.

In conclusion, while Senator Adeyemi and others express concerns about Abbo’s allegations, the former senator advocates for a peaceful transition, urging Abbo to move forward with grace and faith in the future.
