On a cold winter’s morning, King Charles and Queen Camilla were in high spirits as they arrived at Crathie Kirk, located near their Scottish estate at Balmoral, to attend the Sunday church service.
The royal couple was seen traveling in a green Range Rover, cruising through the snowy roads with smiles on their faces, radiating warmth despite the chilly weather.
A Relaxed King and a Stylish Queen
King Charles, aged 76, appeared relaxed in a classic tweed jacket as the driver navigated through the snow-covered streets of Crathie.
In the front seat, Queen Camilla, 77, sat with a smile on her face, dressed in a chic black coat paired with a matching fur-lined hat, adding a touch of elegance to the winter day.
They were accompanied by a close friend, Lady Sarah Keswick, who was seated next to the King in the back of the vehicle.
A Close Friendship with a Shared History
Lady Sarah, a longstanding companion of the royal couple, looked cheerful in a black coat, red scarf, and beret hat.
She has deep ties to both Charles and Camilla, as the daughter of former Conservative MP Simon Ramsay, the 16th Earl of Dalhousie.
Lady Sarah’s late husband, Sir John “Chips” Keswick, shared a strong bond with both Camilla and Charles, particularly over their mutual love for horse racing.
The couple was also involved in the ownership of a racehorse bred by Queen Elizabeth.
King Charles and Camilla’s Recent Norfolk Visit
Just a week earlier, Charles and Camilla faced another dose of extreme weather as they headed to a Sunday service at Sandringham, navigating the harsh Norfolk conditions.
Despite the freezing rain and icy winds, both royals were prepared with umbrellas as they made the short walk to St Mary Magdalene Church.
Charles, wearing his iconic beige woolen overcoat, braved the elements, while Queen Camilla looked elegant in a chocolate-brown dress coat, long boots, and a fur-brimmed hat, completing the look with her signature transparent umbrella.
The Royal Family’s Festive Season at Sandringham
The royal couple was not alone in their Sandringham visit.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children, Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte, were also seen walking through the estate during the holidays.
Other members of the royal family, including Zara Tindall, Lady Louise, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, spent the festive season in North Norfolk.
The time spent at Sandringham was likely a welcome break, particularly after Queen Camilla’s recent recovery from pneumonia and King Charles’s ongoing health battle.
King Charles’s Health Journey and Upcoming Duties in 2025
As the New Year begins, the Palace continues to manage King Charles’s health condition, which is expected to require treatment throughout 2025.
Despite this, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the King’s health is moving in a positive direction.
His Majesty is expected to resume his full public duties, including both domestic and international visits in the first half of the year, continuing his royal engagements with optimism.
