Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has started its sale of Nomination and Expression of interest forms for Party aspirants seeking to be flag bearers in the forthcoming 2023 General Election.
To flag-off the exercise the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu promised in a press briefing that the process will be transparent.
Mr. Argungu said that many security features have been added to the forms.
“On the envelope, we have the guidelines, on the guidelines, we have a bar code so that nobody will duplicate it.
On the barcode if you scan you will see that it is written, APC guidelines for the 2023 Election. So also the nomination form, it has a serial number and a reference number, gubernatorial stroke APC stroke 02 stroke 2023.
It also has a bar code which you will see this inscription just to ensure that any form that does not have this bar code is not purchased from the National Secretariat of our great party” Argungu said.
Early birds such as the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang picked his form to contest the Akwa-Ibom State Gubernatorial primary election.
Senator Enang said he would ensure accountability to the people if given the chance.
“I’m bringing to the table accountability, change in the mode of doing things, concentration in the manner in which we generate funds from the State and from the National level, attracting and working more with the federal government, cooperating with federal institutions to be able to bring development to the State and giving attention to agriculture, education and declaring emergency on the development of Youths and the development of human infrastructure” Enang said.
The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong who is contesting the Plateau South Senatorial also picked a form.
