When he tripped and fell while jogging in the home with socks on in 2013, shattering his jaw, Zac Efron had to have his mouth wired shut.

The “Baywatch” actor has since confessed that the event almost cost him his life.

The 34-year-old actor added, in response to later rumours that he had received cosmetic surgery: “It was humorous. It’s awful. We’re okay, but I nearly passed away.

“My mother said” (about the rumours). I don’t really care since I seldom ever use the internet.

The masseter muscles on the interior of his face and jaw had to work extra hard to make up for the damage, which gave Efron a radically distinctive appearance. He has previously said that after the accident, his “chin bone was hanging off his face.”

In his latest movie, “The Greatest Beer Run Ever,” the “Greatest Showman” actor collaborates with Bill Murray and Russell Crowe. He portrays a man who travels from New York to Vietnam to deliver beer to his boyhood friends who are serving in the war.

Working with Murray and Crowe, according to Efron, was a dream come true.

“When you meet someone like that, and you’re filming a movie, and you’re sort of in the process already, you just start working together,” he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“And there’s something that really great actors do that Bill and Russell did that was just – they are so present and care so much about this craft that they’ve mastered so many different aspects of film-making. They go beyond being your co-star.

“They assist you with the cassettes, give suggestions, and are highly conscious of their presence on camera, as well as the characters and plot.

Working with such folks is a blast. You just think, “That’s what I want to be when I grow up,” as you kind of take in some of the magic.
