The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has delivered a stern warning to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding its declining popularity.
In his State of the Nation Broadcast at the church in Ikeja, Lagos, Bakare pointed out that the results of the 2023 general election indicated a significant loss of support for the APC compared to previous polls in 2015 and 2019.

Pastor Tunde Bakare, who himself was a presidential aspirant on the APC platform for the 2023 election, expressed his concern over the evolving nature of the party.

He stated, “At this juncture, I must also warn the APC.
I was there when the APC was formed, and the extent of my involvement is well documented.
As a stakeholder and, more importantly, as a nation builder, I’m more obligated to state without equivocation that this is not the APC we envisaged.”

The results of the recent elections highlighted the growing dissatisfaction of Nigerians with the direction the APC has taken.
Bakare highlighted that the APC’s victory in the 2023 elections was partly influenced by divisions within the opposing party rather than an overwhelming show of support for the APC itself.
