…By Jack Sylva for TDPel Media. Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church and an ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, revealed feeling discouraged following his recent visit to the President at Aso Rock.
He shared this during a webinar titled ‘Building the New Nigeria: The Role of the Diaspora’ on Saturday.
Bakare went on to explain that the discouragement he experienced led him to decline an invitation from Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State to inaugurate a road in the state.
He mentioned that a road named Isa Kaita Road had his name boldly written on it, stating that it was commissioned by Pastor Tunde Bakare on May 26, 2023. However, he disclosed that he did not attend the event.
During the webinar, Bakare read out a WhatsApp message he had sent to El-Rufai on Thursday, explaining his absence and the reasons behind it.
In his message, Bakare expressed his appreciation for the invitation to commission one of the many roads constructed in Kaduna during El-Rufai’s tenure as governor.
El-Rufai responded by questioning what had caused Bakare to feel this way and what efforts he had made to bring about such a state of mind.
El-Rufai added that all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were grappling with the heartbreak of President Buhari’s departure.
Bakare emphasized that he was not disappointed at all and stressed that he firmly believes in what God has said about him.
