In the aftermath of the Saturday governorship election, both Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and Douye Diri of Bayelsa State have emerged as frontrunners in the race for re-election.

Bayelsa State Results: Diri Dominates in Early Counts

In Bayelsa State, the early results posted on the INEC Result Viewing portal highlight Diri’s substantial lead. With 85.29% of the results uploaded, Diri, the PDP candidate, has secured 13,396 votes, while his closest rival, Timipre Sylva of the APC, trails with 4,802 votes.

Imo State Numbers: Uzodinma Commands a Strong Position

In Imo State, Uzodinma, the APC candidate, is in a commanding position based on the preliminary results. Out of 90 polling units, Uzodinma has garnered 22,113 votes, with the PDP’s Samuel Anyanwu and the Labour Party’s Senator Athan Achonu trailing behind with 1,452 and 1,658 votes, respectively.


Kogi State: Three-Horse Race Unfolds

Meanwhile, in Kogi State, a competitive three-way battle is underway. The APC’s Usman Ododo, SDP’s Muri Ajaka, and PDP’s Dino Melaye are vying for the governorship.

Kogi State Breakdown: Ododo Leads with Strong Showing

As the results trickle in, Usman Ododo of the APC is leading the pack in Kogi State. Out of 149 polling units across five local government areas, Ododo has garnered 21,047 votes. SDP’s Muri Ajaka closely follows with 7,324 votes, while PDP’s Dino Melaye trails with 2,529 votes.


INEC Portal Update: Percentage of Results Uploaded

As of the latest update on the INEC Result Viewing portal:

  • Bayelsa State: 85.29% of results uploaded (1,914 out of 2,242 polling units).
  • Imo State: 90.1% of results uploaded (4,287 out of 4,758 polling units).
  • Kogi State: 87.34% of results uploaded (3,064 out of 3,508 polling units).
