Ukrainian Security Service orchestrates symbolic delivery of funeral wreath to Russian Major General Vitaly Terekhin at his residence near the SMO zone

In an unexpected and symbolic gesture, the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) delivered a funeral wreath to Russian Major General Vitaly Terekhin, who commands the 150th Motorized Rifle Division in the ongoing conflict zone.

This bold move wasn’t just an ordinary act; it came straight to the general’s residence, orchestrated with strategic precision by Ukrainian intelligence.

A Startling Find

The unsettling package was discovered by Terekhin’s relatives, prompting immediate concern.

They called in security services to assess the situation.

Specialists who inspected the wreath confirmed there were no explosives present, but the symbolic nature of the delivery was hard to ignore.

An Unlikely Delivery Team

To execute this audacious plan, the SBU enlisted two unsuspecting Moscow couriers.

Reports suggest that the Ukrainian agency posted a seemingly innocuous job offer on a social media platform, targeting individuals in need of quick work.

The two couriers, unaware of the bigger picture, were provided with coordinates for picking up the wreath and instructions to deliver it to the specified address.

Interestingly, the couriers were never informed about the identity of the recipient.

Their role was limited to dropping off the wreath and leaving.

Now, Russian law enforcement authorities are actively searching for these couriers to uncover more details about the incident.

Who Is Major General Vitaly Terekhin?

Vitaly Terekhin, born on December 31, 1974, in Russia’s Perm region, has built an extensive military career.

A 1996 graduate of the prestigious Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School, he served in the 31st Separate Guards Air Assault Brigade early in his career.

Terekhin has been decorated with several honors, including two Orders of Courage and medals such as “For Bravery,” “Zhukov,” and “Suvorov.”

In May 2024, he was promoted to Major General and is now leading the 150th Idritsko-Berlin Motorized Rifle Division in Russia’s ongoing military campaign in Ukraine.

Understanding the SBU’s Role

The Security Service of Ukraine, known as the SBU, is the country’s primary internal security agency.

With responsibilities ranging from counter-intelligence to combating terrorism and organized crime, the SBU plays a critical role in Ukraine’s defense efforts.

Formed after Ukraine’s independence in 1991, the agency has seen its share of controversy.

For years, it faced criticism for corruption and allegations of targeting political dissidents.

However, following the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, the SBU underwent significant reforms to rebuild its credibility and efficiency.

The SBU’s Alpha Group, its elite special forces unit, has been pivotal in carrying out high-stakes operations.

Directly under the Ukrainian president’s authority, the SBU remains a powerful force, now making bold statements even beyond its borders.

A Symbolic Gesture Amid Conflict

This act of delivering a funeral wreath to a high-ranking Russian military official isn’t just about intimidation; it’s a calculated psychological tactic in the ongoing conflict.

By leveraging symbolism, Ukraine’s intelligence service sends a clear message of defiance and resistance, showcasing their creativity and determination in unconventional ways.
