Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has unveiled plans aimed at bringing an end to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine by the year’s end.
Addressing reporters alongside Slovenian President Natasha Pirc-Musar, Zelensky outlined a comprehensive strategy that he hopes will garner widespread international support.
Following a recent peace summit in Switzerland, Zelensky disclosed that three specific plans are in the works, focusing on energy, food security, and the exchange of prisoners of war.
Expressing confidence in their resolution, he emphasized the importance of presenting a detailed and inclusive peace plan to global partners.
“We are actively working on a diplomatic solution to end the war.
It’s crucial that our proposed plan gains broad international backing,” Zelensky affirmed.
Strengthening Ukraine’s Defense
Simultaneously, Zelensky underscored Ukraine’s efforts to bolster its military capabilities, citing increased production of drones, electronic warfare equipment, and artillery.
“Our aim is not aggression but strength on the battlefield.
Russia respects strength, and therefore, we must be prepared,” Zelensky stated.
He emphasized that while Ukraine seeks peace, it is imperative to fortify its defenses amidst ongoing tensions.
Timeline for Resolution
Looking ahead, Zelensky reaffirmed his commitment to finalizing the comprehensive peace plan by the end of this year.
His remarks highlight Ukraine’s dual strategy of diplomatic negotiations and military readiness in the pursuit of lasting peace with Russia.
