Sarah Cook, the agency’s flood duty manager, reminded the public that even shallow floodwater can be dangerous.

Just 30cm of flowing water is enough to cause a car to float, making it crucial to avoid driving through flooded streets.

With significant inland flooding expected, particularly in south and mid-Wales, it’s essential for people to plan their journeys carefully and stay informed about the weather warnings.
