UAE Asks FG To Restore Emirates Airline Slots

The United Arab Emirates, UAE, has asked the Federal Government to restore, immediately, the slots of Emirates Airlines earlier withdrawn by the Ministry of Aviation.

According to a report, the UAE described the Federal Government’s action as totally unjust.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s, NCAA, had on Friday resolved that Emirates Airlines can now fly into Abuja, once in a week, precisely on Thursdays, while its Lagos flight was suspended.

However, the UAE, in its December ten, 2021 letter addressed to the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and signed by the Minister of Economy and Chairman of the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority, GCAA, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Mari, said the action taken by the NCAA regarding the Air Peace’s approval at Sharjah is not in line with the spirit of the agreed air services arrangements between the two Nations.

Emirates had on Friday announced the suspension of operations between Nigeria and Dubai, until both countries resolved the fresh diplomatic row.
