TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi recently hinted at the club’s plans for a new head coach after Sead Ramovic’s departure.
The German-born coach is leaving TS Galaxy to take on a new challenge with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
This move marks a significant change for both Ramovic and the South African club, as they prepare for new beginnings.
Sead Ramovic has received Sukazi’s blessing to take on this new role in Morocco, where he will face a familiar rival, Rulani Mokwena.
Mokwena was recently appointed as the coach of Wydad Casablanca after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
Ramovic’s departure leaves a notable void at TS Galaxy, where he has been instrumental since joining the club in October 2021.
Ramovic’s Impact at TS Galaxy
Under Ramovic’s guidance, TS Galaxy became one of the strongest teams in South African football.
In the previous season, the club narrowly missed winning the inaugural 2023 Carling Knockout Cup, losing 5-4 on penalties to Stellenbosch FC.
Additionally, Ramovic led the team to a respectable sixth-place finish in the Premiership, with 12 wins, 8 draws, and 10 losses.
Sukazi’s Plans for the New Coach
As TS Galaxy prepares for life without Ramovic, Tim Sukazi has confirmed that a new coach has already been found and is expected to arrive within 24 hours.
Sukazi, speaking on Metro FM, mentioned that the new coach is highly qualified, holding a UEFA Pro License—a requirement for the position at TS Galaxy.
He also noted that the new coach would bring along a first and second assistant, ensuring a strong support team.
Looking Ahead
Sukazi emphasized that he had anticipated Ramovic’s departure and had been proactive in securing a replacement.
The new coach’s arrival is timely, as the team prepares for the upcoming Mpumalanga Premier’s International Cup, where they will face Young Africans SC.
This new chapter for TS Galaxy, under fresh leadership, promises to be an exciting one as the club aims to build on its recent successes.
