Elena Cardone started a GoFundMe campaign after a judge ordered former President Donald Trump to pay nearly $355 million to New York state for misrepresenting property values.
The ruling also banned Trump from serving as a company director in New York or obtaining loans from state banks for three years.
Trump’s Response
Trump, speaking from his Florida estate, expressed his intention to appeal the ruling, calling it a sad day for the country.
Judge’s Criticism
Judge Arthur Engoron, in his ruling, referenced previous allegations of wrongdoing and cited the Trump Organization’s conviction in a criminal tax fraud case in 2022.
He criticized the defendants’ lack of contrition, describing their actions as bordering on pathological and stating that the frauds were shocking.
GoFundMe Campaign
Elena Cardone’s GoFundMe page expressed support for Trump, portraying him as a defender of American values and justice.
The fundraiser aimed to not only raise funds for the settlement but also to make a statement in support of Trump and against a system that seeks to stifle dissent.
Standing Up for American Values
The campaign emphasized that standing with Trump meant standing up for American strength, prosperity, and security.
It called on patriots to rally in defense of Trump, portraying the fundraiser as a stand against a system that threatens the foundations of the republic.
