Former President Donald Trump paid his respects to Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, mere minutes after Buckingham Palace announced her death at age 96. “Queen Elizabeth’s magnificent and historic reign provided a tremendous legacy of peace and prosperity for the United Kingdom,”

Trump saw the Queen twice as president, first for tea at Windsor Castle in 2018 and again for a full state visit in 2019.

He concluded, “May God bless the Queen, and may she reign forever in our hearts.”
