St. Joseph’s Catholic School & Sixth Form Centre in Port Talbot shared their sorrow over the tragic and unexpected death of one of their year 11 pupils.
The school made the announcement through a Facebook post, expressing their sadness and offering support to the grieving community.
Police Confirmation and Incident Details
The school’s announcement followed a statement from South Wales Police, confirming the death of a 15-year-old boy at Aberavon beach on Monday, June 19.
The incident prompted a significant emergency response, and authorities urged the public to avoid the beach area during the ongoing investigation.
Chief Inspector Richard Haines provided details, stating that officers responded to a report of a boy in the sea at Aberavon Beach.
Despite the efforts of emergency services and members of the public, the boy could not be saved.
Police requested anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
