Three teenagers charged over stabbing murder of 17-year-old boy at Sydney’s Royal Easter Show

After shocking news that her husband texted a young girl about her Instagram bikini photos, the wife of a troubled local councillor defended her husband.

Julian Carbone, a former Burnside councillor, was referred to in a social media post by Angela Carbone as a “gentleman” who had just experienced “great cruelty.”

He was a “passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated” council member in Adelaide, according to Ms. Carbone, who posted about him on Facebook on Friday.

A second 18-year-old man was arrested at Schofields Train Station on Wednesday and was also charged with murder, while a 14-year-old boy was arrested in Arndell Park on Friday and also charged with murder

Police first claimed that people were keeping important details about his death “hidden,” but they have now announced that an 18-year-old guy was detained and charged with murder last Saturday at Shalvey in Sydney’s west.

On Wednesday, a second 18-year-old guy was detained at Schofields Train Station and charged with murder as well.

Then, on Friday, a 14-year-old kid was detained at Arndell Park and charged with murder.

Bail was denied to the three teenagers before their court dates.

State Crime Commander, Acting Assistant Commissioner Jason Weinstein, said the arrests were the result of a long investigation by Homicide Squad detectives.

‘From the outset police were met with a wall of silence from associates of those involved and undertook a painstaking investigative process to reach this point,’ he said.

‘This and other recent acts of knife crime that we’ve seen were senseless acts of violence which have had devastating consequences for victims, their families, and also those allegedly responsible.

‘I implore young persons to think carefully about their choices and the consequences of carrying or using a knife and encourage parents to speak with their children about the dangers associated with it. I don’t want to see other families devastated like this.’

Deputy Premier and Minister for Police Paul Toole said the arrests send a strong message that violence of any kind will not be tolerated.

‘This was a shocking incident that played out publicly at one of Sydney’s most popular family events,’ Mr Toole said.

‘This breakthrough clearly shows that it doesn’t matter how long it takes, and no matter what obstacles police face, their investigations remain ongoing, and now three teenagers are facing murder charges.’
