Alexandra Burke, Carrie Johnson and Alice Evans are among those who have paid tribute to blogger Charlie Anderson-Read, who died on Sunday at the age of 41 after a three-year battle with aggressive cancer.

Charlie’s death was announced through her Instagram account, where a pre-recorded farewell video was shared five hours after her passing.

In the emotional message, she thanked her followers for their kindness, encouragement and financial support throughout her illness.

She leaves behind her wife, Louise, and their four-year-old daughter, Florence.

Charlie Anderson-Read Shares Final Message With Followers

The announcement of Charlie’s death was accompanied by a message from her family, which read: “At 7.30 this morning, Charlie passed. She is now at peace.”

The family explained that Charlie had recorded a video several weeks earlier, intending for it to be shared with her online community after her death.

In the recording, Charlie acknowledged that she could no longer communicate with her followers directly and expressed her gratitude for the support she had received.

“If you are watching this video, I am, unfortunately, no longer here,” she said, explaining that someone had kindly posted the recording on her behalf.

She added that the messages and kind words she had received had helped her through an extremely difficult period.

Charlie also thanked those who had donated money to support Louise and Florence, saying she would remain grateful for their generosity.

Blogger Reflects on Life and Family in Emotional Farewell

During the video, Charlie spoke candidly about the experience of living with terminal cancer and the difficulty of finding words to express her appreciation.

She said she hoped that documenting her illness had helped at least some people who had followed her journey.

Despite the circumstances, Charlie said her experience had revealed the kindness and generosity that existed in the world.

“Through this whole ordeal, I have only come across people being kind to me, generous to me and it’s just shown me how much good there is in the world,” she said.

Charlie also reflected on the life she had lived, explaining that she had no regrets, although she wished she could have spent more time with her family and watched Florence grow up.

“I am so grateful for the life that I’ve led,” she said.

Becoming emotional, she acknowledged the experiences she would miss, particularly the opportunity to see her daughter grow older.

However, she expressed gratitude for the additional time she had been given beyond her initial prognosis.

Charlie had been told she had approximately six weeks to live but continued living for around three more years.

Alexandra Burke and Other Celebrities Lead Tributes

The news of Charlie’s death prompted an outpouring of messages from celebrities and followers who had followed her cancer journey online.

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant and singer Alexandra Burke posted a white heart and a white dove emoji in tribute.

Carrie Johnson described Charlie as “Such an inspiration.”

Actress Alice Evans shared an emotional farewell, writing: “Goodbye you sweet, beautiful person. I knew this was coming, but I’m still devastated.”

She continued: “Every inch of you screamed vitality and love of life. Thank you for sharing yourself with us.”

Alice also offered support to Charlie’s wife, Louise, adding that she hoped she would know that people were available to help her whenever she needed them.

Singer and television personality Darren Day also posted prayer emojis and hearts, while television presenter and writer John Whaite wrote: “And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”

Friends Had Expressed Concern as Charlie’s Condition Deteriorated

Tributes had begun appearing on Charlie’s social media pages even before her death, as those following her updates became increasingly concerned about her condition.

Around two weeks earlier, her family had shared a message explaining that she was “still with us, but very near the end.”

Zoe Ball responded with a message of support, writing: “All love to her. and her dear ones.”

Alice Evans had also spoken about her growing attachment to Charlie’s updates and the sadness she felt as the blogger approached the end of her life.

“Oh God I’ve been dreading this. I’ve grown to love Charlie’s updates so much,” she wrote at the time.

Addressing Louise, she added: “You are so brave this is an impossible time for you. Sending all the love in the world. Alice x.”

Charlie Was Diagnosed With Two Forms of Terminal Cancer

Charlie attracted a substantial online following after sharing her experience of being diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer at the age of 38.

Her journey took another devastating turn when she was later diagnosed with terminal cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer affecting the bile ducts.

The second diagnosis came three weeks after her father died from kidney cancer.

Despite being given a prognosis of just six weeks, Charlie continued sharing updates about her condition and her experiences for approximately three more years.

Her videos documented the challenges of living with terminal illness, while also giving followers an opportunity to follow her treatment journey and personal reflections.

Donations Redirected to Support Louise and Florence

Charlie initially raised money to help cover the cost of her cancer treatment.

However, after exhausting the available treatment options, she explained that the funds would instead be used to support her wife and young daughter.

In an earlier message, she wrote that the donations would help Louise and Florence with the expenses they would face following her death.

She also explained that the money would be kept aside until her passing in case further treatment options became available.

“We still fight on. Thank you so much for generosity,” she wrote.

The fundraising campaign has raised £27,390, equivalent to 136 per cent of its original target.

In her final recorded message, Charlie returned to the gratitude she had expressed throughout her journey, thanking the community that had supported her and her family.

“So for the last time, take care everybody. I wish you all well. Keep fighting,” she said.

She urged her followers not to let her death have a negative effect on them before signing off with a final message of encouragement: “All the best, keep fighting. You’ve got this. And I’ll see you. Bye.”
