Among these newly sworn-in governors are Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Kefas Agbu of Taraba, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Mohammed Bago of Niger, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto, and Umar Namadi of Jigawa.

Ten Incumbent Governors Secure Second Terms

Among the 28 governors, ten were reelected for another term.

Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Babagana Zulum of Borno, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, and Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara will continue their leadership roles.

Party Affiliations and Distribution

It is worth noting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victories in 16 states, holding the majority of governorship positions.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) claims ten governorships, while the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) each have representation in one state.
