Tumi Motsoeneng, better known as the popular reality TV figure Gogo Skhotheni, has made headlines recently after issuing a heartfelt apology to fellow celebrity sangoma Gogo Maweni.
Their public disagreement has captured the attention of fans and followers, as both women are significant figures in the realm of traditional healing.
Acknowledging Past Mistakes
The tension between Skhotheni and Maweni has been brewing for some time, igniting when Skhotheni accused Maweni of stealing her ideas.
The situation escalated further when Maweni made comments about Skhotheni’s late child, Monde Junior Shange, who was ill at the time.
In a candid episode of her podcast, The Venting Podcast, Skhotheni, who recently underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), addressed the feud directly.
During the discussion, she took responsibility for her previous remarks about Maweni’s appearance, admitting that her insults were out of line.
Initially hesitant to name her target, she eventually confirmed that she was speaking about Maweni when prompted by her interviewer, Phiwe.
Reflecting on Hurtful Comments
Skhotheni expressed regret over her comments, stating, “What I didn’t like about myself was when I kept on inflicting the pain of her looks.
That’s a downgrade for me. She didn’t choose to be like that, and that’s what I am apologizing for. I shouldn’t have done that.”
She also mentioned how her family disapproved of her actions and wanted to step in on her behalf.
Clarifying Their Relationship
Despite their ongoing issues, Skhotheni emphasized that she and Maweni were never true friends, which is why their conflicts have persisted.
She expressed a sense of forgiveness towards Maweni, asserting, “What I am saying about Maweni is that I shouldn’t have reacted to anything that she said.
What she said about me was her own opinion. I forgive her even if she feels I don’t deserve her to say sorry to me.”
Skhotheni clarified that she holds no animosity towards Maweni, wishing her well in her life as a mother and wife.
“I wish her nothing but the best in life. She has kids, she’s a mother and wife who needs to be there for her family,” she added.
A Mother’s Pain and Forgiveness
Skhotheni’s journey has been particularly painful since the recent loss of her son, Monde Shange Junior.
In a poignant moment, she stated that if Maweni played any role in her son’s passing, she forgives her. “It’s okay. If she did it, God forgives her. My child is no longer alive.
If she did it, her mission has been accomplished because my son is no longer alive,” she said. “She’s the boss; I bow down. It’s okay. I forgive her.”
